Lynchburg

Join us at the start of another movement of God!

Years ago in a dream, Chris Zinchuck saw the eastern coast of the United States at night, with lights beginning to appear all along it.  When he awoke, he had a sense that God was sharing His desire to plant new YWAM locations where Chris saw the lights, and through steps of obedience, this led to the Virginia Beach location (you can hear the full story here.)

Lynchburg was another one of those lights.

As God was speaking to Chris, He was also speaking to others.  In 2010, Dave and Katrina Marple sensed the Lord saying to go to Lynchburg and help assist the planting of a YWAM location there.  As an act of faith and obedience, they went.
And they waited.
While we want things to happen immediately, sometimes God is preparing us for abundantly more.  As time passed, the Marples and Chris began to connect regularly to pray and dream.  While they all believed God had plans for Lynchburg, He had not yet given the green light.
In fact, during a focused prayer time in August 2016 with the entire YWAM Virgina staff, they heard "not yet."
The Marples continued to take steps of obedience, trusting God's ways and timing.  YWAM VA continued to do the same, never letting go of this sense that God wanted them to help start a location in Lynchburg.
Then, in August 2021, they felt a sense that God was saying, "It's time."  Within a year, two YWAM Richmond families took steps of faith to relocate and plant roots in what is now YWAM Lynchburg!
You can be a part of this as well.  We invite your prayers in several ways:
  • Pray on our behalf for wisdom, boldness, and provision, particularly for the families that have recently moved to Lynchburg,
  • Pray for how you, or someone you know, can get involved in the next steps, such as volunteering or staffing,
  • Pray to ask God if he wants you to sow finacially into the soil of this new location
